Refreshing and Healthy Mango Popsicles with Strawberry Jam Swirl

Nothing quite hits the spot like a refreshing popsicle. But rather than reaching for store-bought options loaded with sugar and artificial flavors, why not try making your own healthy and delicious version at home? Healthy mango popsicles with strawberry swirls are among my favorite popsicles to make with my daughters. These popsicles are such a treat on warm days. My recipe is simple and creates a beautifully colored popsicle.

Making Popsicles – Healthy & Customizable

Mangos are loaded with fiber and vitamins A and C. Additionally, they contain antioxidants which help protect against cell damage and inflammation. Furthermore, mangos are a good source of folate, essential for overall cell function and metabolism. You can feel good about eating these popsicles!

Making your strawberry jam is a way to keep the popsicles preservative-free, low-sugar, and cost-effective. Feel free to customize these with your favorite berry jam or swap out the yogurt for a dairy-free alternative.

How to Strawberry Swirl

The addition of strawberry swirl adds a vibrant burst of sweetness. To add the swirl effect, ensure your mango popsicle puree is slightly thick so the jam will sit on top and not bleed through. Fill half of your popsicle mold with mango puree and then top with a few teaspoons of jam. Then repeat with more puree and more jam. This creates a contrast of colors in the popsicle and a fun pop of flavor. If you want a more tye-dyed appearance, use a long skewer to swirl the jam into the puree.

Healthy Mango Popsicles = Sunshine on a Stick

You can quickly whip up a batch of these luscious mango popsicles with only a few simple ingredients and a little freezer time. Packed with flavor and free from added sugars, they’re the perfect guilt-free treat for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine diced mango, yogurt, and a pinch of salt. Add a small amount of orange juice or water and blend until smooth and somewhat thick. You are looking for a smoothie-like consistency. If needed, add more liquid.
  • Pour the mango mixture into popsicle molds, filling each mold about 1/2 full.
  • Spoon 1-2 teaspoons of strawberry jam on top of each mango-filled mold.
  • Carefully add more mango mixture to the top, leaving space for a bit more jam. Top with another 1-2 teaspoons of jam.
  • Insert popsicle sticks into the molds.
  • Place the molds in the freezer and freeze until solid, usually for about 4-6 hours or overnight.
  • Once frozen, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds to loosen the popsicles. Carefully remove them from the molds.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by choosing sweet or ripe mangoes or adding a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if needed.
  • These popsicles can be made without the strawberry jam or yogurt.
